Who is Bill Burr?

Bill Burr (William Frederic Burr, born June 10, 1968, in Canton, Massachusetts) is an American stand-up comedian, podcaster, actor, writer and director, known for confrontational, “rage-fueled” observational comedy. He graduated from Emerson College in 1993, worked in warehouses, did his first stand-up set on March 2, 1992, and moved to New York in 1994. He played Showtime at the Apollo (2000), Comedy Central Presents (2003), Just for Laughs (2004) and HBO’s One Night Stand (2005). His 2006 set at the Tweeter Center in Camden, New Jersey, where he turned a booing crowd around, became a well-known moment in stand-up. He has hosted the Monday Morning Podcast since May 2007 and co-founded the All Things Comedy network in 2012. His hours run from Why Do I Do This? (2008) and Let It Go (2010) to You People Are All the Same (2012, the first special to premiere exclusively on Netflix), I’m Sorry You Feel That Way (2014), Walk Your Way Out (2017), Paper Tiger (2019), Live at Red Rocks (2022) and Drop Dead Years (Hulu, 2025), his eighth special; Paper Tiger and Drop Dead Years were nominated for the Grammy for Best Comedy Album. On August 21, 2022, he became the first comedian to perform at Fenway Park.
